NXT Women’s Championship Match

(C) Asuka Vs. Ember Moon

After the ring introductions the bell rings and Ember immediately catches Asuka with a running jump kick to the face! Ember follows up with another kick, then a dropkick to the head but Asuka kicks out at one. Ember catches a kick from Asuka and catches her with a suplex. Asuka rolls from the ring and Ember goes after her with a baseball slide that misses.

Asuka catches Ember with a quick kick but Ember retaliates, then takes to the apron and its a cannonball onto Asuka on the floor! Still on the outside, Asuka rams Ember into the steel steps, then punches her up the ramp.Asuka hits Ember with an arm-trap suplex onto the steel part of the ramp! Back inside the ring now, Asuka kicks Ember around, targeting the arm she slammed into the steps and suplexed her on.

Asuka applies an armbar to Ember and wears her down. A series of reversals followed by an arm-trap STO from Asuka. Ember holds her arm before Asuke grabs it and stands on her back stretching her out, as well as kicking the back of her head. Asuka pulls Ember to her feet, then applies an Octopus Stretch, then a seated Fujiwara armbar! Long period of submissions from Asuka.

Ember finally gets some ground by lifting Asuka up and landing a teardrop suplex! Asuka misses a wild backhand and Ember follows up with a series of kicks and an enziguiri for a near-fall. Asuka catches Ember with a German suplex into the turnbuckles!  Asuka goes back to work on the arm and looks for the Asuka Lock but can’t quite get it in. Ember pries her hands off and applies the Asuka Lock!! Asuka grabs the arm around her neck and slams it down on her shoulder before turning the tables and leaping onto Ember’s back with the Asuka Lock!

Ember reverses by falling on her back and then flipping backwards for a pin attempt but Asuka kicks out! They both spring to their feet and Ember hits a fierce clothesline. Both women are down. Asuka ducks a second clothesline attempt, then Ember ducks one, only to be hit with a leaping hip attack from Asuka. Asuka runs for another hip attack in the corner but Ember elbows her away. Ember climbs to the second rope and catches Asuka with a tornado suplex! Nigel McGuinness reminds us hat Ember cannot lock in a great pin attempt because of her arm.

They get to their feet and exchange blows, which Ember wins with  some hard knee strikes. The fans are divided down the middle. Ember fires back with some strikes, then catches Ember with a big knee. Ember responds with a flip-out slam for a near-fall. Ember takes to the top rope but Asuka jumps up and grabs her for a superplex but Ember punches her and slides down between her legs and trips her into the tree of woe. Ember attacks Asuka in the tree for another near-fall. Ember takes to the top rope again and this time hits The Eclipse…and Asuka kicks out!!

Ember is distraught and the fans are going wild. Ember goes back to the top rope after telling Asuka she hates her. Asuka grabs the referee and hides behind him but Ember jumps anyway and hits Asuka with a crossbody, but Asuka rolls through and goes for the pin with the tights! The referee caught the tight-holding and stopped counting and Ember is furious! Asuke argues with the referee and Ember catches her with a huge superkick but it’s not enough! A huge “NXT” chant breaks out. Ember can’t believe it and she tries to lift Asuka but the Champ is out. Or is she?! Asuka was playing possum and grabs Ember with a cross armbar attempt. Asuka can’t lock it in and Ember reverses into a pin attempt but Asuka reverses into the Asuka Lock and Ember fights…and fights…and finally taps out!

Winner: Asuka

Holy crap. That was Asuka’s best match to date and she is unbelievable! Nigel McGuinness asks the question on everyone’s mind, who can beat Asuka? Asuka leaves the ring and Ember is left . Ember is crying and the fans give her a standing ovation.
