Trick Williams may be closer than ever to finally making the jump to WWE’s main roster.

According to a report from BodySlam.net, Williams is backstage for the December 19 double taping in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which will cover the December 22 episode of RAW and the December 26 episode of SmackDown. While it’s still unclear whether Williams will appear on either show, his presence backstage has immediately led to speculation that a long-awaited call-up is coming.

“Trick Williams is backstage for tonight’s RAW & SmackDown double taping. Trick is expected to be called up soon, though it’s currently unknown if he will be on tonight’s tapings or not.”

Williams was last seen on WWE NXT television during the November 18, 2025 episode, making this appearance behind the scenes especially notable as WWE prepares for the final stretch of the year.

The update lines up with comments Williams made just a few months earlier, when he openly said he felt his move to RAW or SmackDown was already overdue. Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast with Booker T and Brad Gilmore back in September 2025, Williams didn’t hide his frustration.

“Yesterday couldn’t have been soon enough, man. I’ve been ready to make that jump to the red or blue brand for a long time. I feel like it’s that time, I feel like it’s been that time.”

Even then, Williams made it clear that no matter where WWE places him, he plans to deliver and make it the hottest show ever.

“I feel like people wanna see that. But, as for now, wherever I am, I’m just gonna make sure it’s the hottest show.”

Whether he debuts on this week’s tapings or not, Trick Williams being backstage is a strong sign: his time is coming. And it might be sooner than we think.
