NXT is reportedly reeling after WWE’s main roster swooped in and called up multiple stars without warning — leaving the developmental brand blindsided and scrambling.

According to Self Made Pro during a recent Self Made Session, the wave of talent call-ups came fast and furious, catching the NXT system off guard. He broke down the internal state of confusion brewing behind the scenes at WWE.

“Their entire show has been raided. Jordynne Grace got taken, Oba Femi got taken, Trick Williams got taken, um, Je’Von Evans, so on and so forth,” he revealed.

This wasn’t just a case of normal promotions — these were stars central to NXT’s current direction, some holding gold and main-eventing shows. The mass movement apparently happened without the developmental brand being looped in.

“I’ll say this though, man. So here’s an actual fact, chat. A lot of this call-up stuff has come together very late,” Self Made said. “And I have reasonable evidence that there was not a lot of coordination and collaboration between the main roster and NXT on how to do this.”

The miscommunication ran so deep that even long-term creative plans were affected. According to Self Made, NXT believed it would be able to retain dual access to Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans — letting them work both brands until WrestleMania 42 weekend. That agreement now seems to have been abruptly tossed aside.

“Because the NXT side expected to at least be able to do double duty with Oba Femi and J’evon Evans until Mania, WrestleMania 42 weekend.”

Instead of a shared-use approach, the talent were pulled completely — with no contingency plan to replace them in ongoing NXT storylines. It was noted this is not just a logistical slip-up — it’s a breakdown in WWE’s developmental pipeline.

The abrupt nature of these call-ups could leave NXT struggling to refill top-tier roles with little notice. He ended by reiterating just how spontaneous the move felt, even to those closest to the product:

“The bottom line is this: a lot of this clearly came together late, and there was not a lot of coordination from the top down,” he continued. “The right hand wasn’t knowing what the left hand was doing, in the sense that NXT was kind of blindsided by these call-ups. How do you not prepare guys behind them?”

They are out of nowhere because, like I said, these guys were expected to do double duty, and right now they’re not doing double duty anymore.”

With Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Jordynne Grace, and Je’Von Evans all becoming main roster stars, NXT is now scrambling to fill the vacuum left by these abrupt departures. It’s clear that WWE’s internal coordination may be in need of serious repair.

Are these sudden call-ups a sign of bigger structural issues in WWE’s developmental system? Or just growing pains as stars rise faster than expected? Sound off below and share your thoughts.
