While Elijah Burke continues to fight inside the ring as Da Pope on NWA POWERRR, he’s also fighting a much different battle outside the ropes—one centered around compassion, dignity, and community support.
On January 10, Burke’s Love-Alive Charity hosted its signature fundraising event, The Duuval Brawl 8, in Jacksonville, Florida. The main event featured Da Pope himself squaring off against former WWE NXT North American Champion Patrick Clark, formerly known as The Velveteen Dream.
Now in its 14th year, The Love-Alive Charity has consistently delivered help to those in need across Jacksonville, providing food, necessities, and direct assistance to individuals living on the streets. Burke, who serves as the organization’s President and CEO, has dedicated his platform to more than just wrestling—he’s focused on positively influencing lives through service and action.
After taking a break from competition, Da Pope made his return to the National Wrestling Alliance last fall and currently appears weekly on NWA POWERRR, airing Tuesdays at 8PM ET on Roku Sports. He’s also scheduled to appear at NWA’s double TV taping on February 21 at Tampa’s WEDU PBS Studios.
Whether he’s in the ring or out in the streets of Jacksonville, Elijah Burke continues to make an impact—one match, and one meal, at a time.
