NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion “The Thrillbilly” Silas Mason might be lacing up his boots for another Hollywood run.

Ringside News can confirm Mason is reportedly in talks to reunite with The Iron Claw director Sean Durkin for the filmmaker’s next project. Mason portrayed Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy of The Fabulous Freebirds in the 2023 biopic about the Von Erich family — a performance that apparently left a strong impression on Durkin.

“It’s a big part of what motivated Silas’ incredible physical transformation over the last several months,” a source told Ringside News.

The NWA Champion has undergone a dramatic body transformation, dropping weight and building serious definition. That effort was driven by dual goals: preparing for his reign atop the NWA and staying ready for his next big break in front of the camera.

“He’s in the best shape of his life partially because he was gearing up for a run at the NWA Worlds title,” the source added, “But also because he’s waiting for that call to shoot his next film project.”

Durkin is currently attached to direct Deep Cuts for A24 — the same production company behind The Iron Claw. Filming is scheduled to begin as early as February 2026, and Mason’s name is being floated for a key role.

Is “The Thrillbilly” about to go from champion to movie star? Only time will tell.
