Wrestle Kingdom 20, set for January 4, 2026 at the Tokyo Dome, has officially sold out in its current configuration—and now New Japan Pro-Wrestling is adding more seats to meet the overwhelming demand. NJPW released a statement confirming the surge in ticket sales and announcing the venue expansion:
“Thanks to you, ‘Suns. R.D presents WRESTLE KINGDOM 20 20 in Tokyo Dome Hiroshi Tanahashi Retirement’ to be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, which was originally scheduled, all the seat type is sold out.”
The company noted that both the arena and stand sections were completely sold out, and they’re stunned by the overwhelming interest. According to NJPW, the show has already set a new record.
“‘WRESTLE KINGDOM 20’, where the retirement match of Hiroshi Tanahashi, a ‘one gem in 100 years’, is the highest sales in the history of the ‘WRESTLE KINGDOM’ series, which started on January 4, 2007.”
With Tanahashi taking on longtime rival Kazuchika Okada in his final match, demand for this event has reached an all-time high. NJPW responded quickly to the demand:
“To meet the expectations of our customers, we have decided to increase the number of seats so that as many customers as possible can watch the event.”
