Nixon Newell, formerly known as Tegan Nox during her WWE run, has officially had it with the “injury-prone” label that’s followed her for years — and she’s now firing back at those critics with a fiery promo that’s got everyone talking.
While speaking with Muscle Man Malcolm, Newell opened up about the mental toll of being constantly labeled injury-prone by fans and how that perception has followed her into the eyes of promoters. But she’s not taking it lying down anymore.
“I mean, um, originally when I first started, it was, you know, real hard on me. Um, took it real hard — terrible mental space. But now, as I’ve got older, I’m like, they couldn’t do what I do. They couldn’t even lace up my boots. So, why am I letting these people that do nothing but sit in their basement licking Cheeto dust off their fingers tell me what I can and can’t do? Like, absolutely not. I’m not going to let their opinion affect me.”
That biting “Cheeto dust” comment wasn’t just a throwaway insult — it represented her frustration at how online trolls with zero experience in the ring have managed to shape real-world perceptions about her body and her ability to perform.
Newell went on to explain that despite what people think, her knees are stronger than ever — but the false narrative has influenced how companies see her.
“But it does definitely carry into like promotions sometimes. Like, people are worried about my knees, but it’s because of this online flak that I get — when in reality, my knees are better than ever. Like, there’s not a problem with them at all. So, it’s just, you know, it’s hard to shake when something is so said repeatedly online. But they always trust that instead of the source.”
And for those who still want to cling to that outdated perception, Nixon Newell says she’s done talking — now, she’s ready to show it.
“But that’s why my entire promo was like, ‘Alright, you guys want to believe that? Let me show you and prove to you that that’s completely inaccurate.’ Like, I’m ready. I’ve been ready. I’m ready to go. Just give me the opportunity to show you that you need me more than anything. You need me.”
With her knees healthy, her mindset strong, and her voice louder than ever, Nixon Newell is done letting the internet write her story. She’s ready to take control and remind the wrestling world exactly who she is — no Cheeto-covered keyboard warrior is stopping that.
