You never know what kind of story will break next in the pro wrestling world, and now Nixon Newell is speaking out about the recent controversy surrounding her name. She addressed the idea that AEW sent her home, and now she’s tackling a story about how she went drinking afterward.

Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize were recently scheduled to face Anna Jay and Tay Melo on AEW Collision. Plans shifted in a big and confusing way, which led to Nixon and Niranda walking out of Tony Khan’s operation. They left the arena about an hour before the show went live, following a disagreement over the creative direction of their match. Then their exit forced AEW to make quick changes to the lineup and brought new attention to backstage issues within the company.

A story broke amid this controversy that Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize were out drinking after her AEW walkout. This especially upset the former Tegan Nox, because she’s a drinker, so this isn’t a new thing for her.

During Nixon Newell’s Twitch stream, the former Tegan Nox went into this situation. She also took a shot at the report that she was “pounding beers” after walking out of Tony Khan’s situation. In the end, she just wants to enjoy her final months as a pro wrestler.

“What pissed me off the most was how people said we were pounding beers, like I don’t do that on a daily basis — I like to drink. People can have the right for their opinion. I’ve been doing this 15 years, she’s been doing it 14, respectively. I said last year that this is my last two years in wrestling, and we’re already a year gone. I want to have fun this year. We spoke to all parties involved, and it is what it is.”

Nixon Newell wanted to make it very clear that there is no bad blood over the situation. She also kept repeating, “it is what it is.” She certainly wanted to clear up the story that she went out and had a little bender at the bar after she walked out of AEW and ROH’s bad booking.

We will have to see what is next for Nixon Newell. She certainly isn’t afraid to clear things up. At this point, she may find herself as a desired commodity in pro wrestling, even though she only has a few months before she is apparently stepping out of the ring for good.
