Artem Chigvintsev says the fallout from his 2024 arrest is still affecting his personal life — especially when it comes to dating.

Chigvintsev revealed that the controversy surrounding his domestic battery arrest continues to follow him online. Speaking on The Glamorous Grind Podcast, he explained that the first thing many people see when they search his name is his mugshot — something he says has made dating incredibly uncomfortable. Chigvintsev said that even casual conversations with potential partners often hit the same awkward moment once his name is searched online.

“But even the dating world isn’t that simple. I’m not dating right now, but I’ve had conversations with people, and the first thing that comes up when they Google me is my mugshot.”

He explained that the situation usually leads to difficult conversations that he no longer wants to keep having. Chigvintsev said he understands why people might react strongly to seeing something like that online — but being the one who has to address it repeatedly has been emotionally draining.

“Then you have to explain yourself, and honestly I don’t want to do that. It’s uncomfortable. I don’t have the time to keep explaining myself, and I don’t feel like I need to. I don’t judge people like that. But if someone Googles me, the first thing they see is my mugshot. Imagine how people feel when they see that. If I went on a date with someone and Googled them and saw a mugshot, of course I’d want to talk about it.”

Nikki Bella’s Ex-Husband Artem Chigvintsev Says Mugshot From Arrest Is Hurting His Dating Life

At the same time, Chigvintsev admitted the constant need to address the situation has become exhausting. Because of that, Chigvintsev said dating isn’t even something he’s prioritizing right now.

“But being on the other side of it is exhausting. It’s draining even getting to that point. That’s just the reality. If you keep focusing on how unfair it is, you’ll just end up feeling sorry for yourself. And honestly, when it comes to dating and things like that, I don’t even know how people find the time for it.”

Chigvintsev’s comments come nearly two years after the highly publicized incident that led to his divorce from Nikki Bella. While the charges were later dropped and the couple finalized their divorce while agreeing to co-parent their son Matteo, the situation continues to follow him online.
