Nikki Bella’s return to WWE has fans excited about seeing The Bella Twins back in the ring together, but not everyone in her household is thrilled about the comeback.
During an appearance on Access Daily, Nikki appeared alongside her sister Brie Bella to talk about their WWE return and the renewed momentum in the women’s tag team division. During the conversation, the topic shifted to something that has changed since their previous runs in WWE — their children are now old enough to understand what their mothers actually do in the ring.
Brie Bella explained that their kids are finally at an age where wrestling will actually stick in their memories. She noted that her daughter Birdie had attended events before but never really remembered what her mom did inside the ring.
Nikki Bella then shared a funny moment that happened when her children saw a promo where she said she felt like she was “finally home” in WWE. According to Bella, her kids immediately questioned that line because they thought it meant she was literally leaving home to live at WWE.
“Well it was funny because when they saw us doing that promo you just saw and I was like, ‘I’m finally home,’ my kids were like, ‘Wait, no she’s not. She’s not home.’ They were really worried that all of a sudden I was going to be staying the night at WWE forever, honestly.”
While that misunderstanding made her laugh, Nikki Bella admitted there’s another reason her son isn’t thrilled about her stepping back into the ring. He doesn’t like seeing his mom take hits during matches.
“My son does not like to see me get hit. He doesn’t mind watching the other female wrestlers, but then when it comes to mommy he’s like, ‘No, you can’t wrestle. You’re not allowed to wrestle.’”
The moment shows how different this WWE run is for Nikki Bella compared to her earlier career. Back then, the Bella Twins were focused on dominating the women’s division while building their brand across WWE television and reality shows. Now they’re balancing that legacy with motherhood and a new generation of fans — including their own kids.
With Nikki Bella and Brie Bella back in the mix, the women’s tag team division could see some very familiar names stepping into the spotlight again. The question now is whether the Bella Twins will be able to climb back to the top after years away from in-ring competition.
