On the July 14 episode of WWE RAW, Nikki Bella tried a hit move that once broke her neck, and now she has explained why she attempted that move in the first place.

While speaking on the Raw Recap show, Nikki Bella talked about her match against Chelsea Green on Raw, explaining how exhausted she was but still gave it everything she had.

Backstage, people kept telling her it would be like riding an old bike. She admitted it was, except it felt like riding such an old bike that she ended up putting Chelsea in her original Rack Attack, which was the very move that once broke her neck.

“I was very blown up but I gave it my all. What’s crazy is everyone kept telling me backstage, ‘It’s gonna be like riding an old bike.’ Well yeah, it was like riding such an old bike that I went and put Chelsea up in my old Rack Attack that broke my neck.”

Bella said she hadn’t done that move since 2016, so it was strange how naturally she turned Chelsea and set it up. In that split second, she thought about how this was exactly what had caused her career-threatening injury and wondered what she was doing.

Even after coming back from her neck surgery, Bella never attempted that move again, so she found it wild and frustrating how instinctively it came back. Chelsea even checked on her, asking if she was okay.

“What’s weird is that I haven’t hit that since 2016, so it was weird that I naturally turned her and put her up, and in that slight second I was like, ‘This is what broke my neck, what am I doing?’ Even when I came back from my broken neck, I never did that. I never once did that, so tonight it was very weird how quickly and naturally I spun her. Even Chelsea was like, ‘Are you okay?’ But that was very wild to me and also p***** me off.”

Nikki Bella also mentioned how it was crazy because at the Evolution Battle Royal, she used the safer Rack Attack 2.0 on Chelsea Green, but on Raw she was in singles form. That rush of “I’m going to win this” took her right back to the mindset she had before her injury. For a brief moment, she considered that maybe she’d be fine if she did it slightly differently, but she’s glad she didn’t take that risk.

“It’s crazy because at the Battle Royal I hit Chelsea with the Rack Attack 2.0, but tonight it was weird being in that singles form. That feeling of ‘I’m gonna win this’ took me back to the OG Rack Attack, and when I had that realization that this is what broke my neck, I couldn’t believe it. For a second I go, ‘But you might be fine if you hit it this way,’ and I’m really happy I didn’t.”

Fans are just glad Nikki Bella won her match against Chelsea Green and didn’t get injured in the process. Now we’ll have to wait and see what WWE has planned for her as we approach SummerSlam in August.
