Nikki Bella is speaking out about the hate she’s been dealing with lately— and this time, she’s getting very specific about what’s being said and how it’s affecting her.

Speaking on The Flying Felon, Nikki addressed the reality of being constantly judged on social media, especially during her return to wrestling after years away. She made it clear that the negativity isn’t occasional — it’s something that’s become part of the experience. Setting the tone, Nikki explained that even bringing up online hate is unavoidable at this point, because of how widespread it’s become in the industry.

“I hate to bring up people online, but sometimes we just can’t avoid it, right? In this industry, I feel like the hate that can happen and the trolling is just so wrong.”

She then gave more context about her current situation, explaining that her comeback isn’t happening in a vacuum. She’s balancing multiple responsibilities, which makes the criticism feel even more disconnected from reality.

“Even on this comeback, there are moments—it’s been hard, because I knew coming back and not having a match in seven years… I am working my ass off and I’m trying, but I’m also a single mom. So it’s like I can give so much, and then I’ve got to give over here too.”

From there, Nikki broke down the type of comments she regularly sees, pointing out that many people online jump straight to criticism without understanding what she’s dealing with: “And people online can be so mean. Like, ‘Wow, look, she can’t even keep up,’ or ‘she can’t do this.’ There’s just no grace given.”

She also addressed one of the most persistent narratives surrounding her career — the idea that her success is tied to past relationships — and made it clear how frustrating that is given the work she’s putting in.

“And they’ll just say these things about you or start rumors about you, and I’m like, ‘Wow, can you imagine if we were in a world where instead of hating on people, you were like, “Wow, I know everything she’s been through and she really gave it her all tonight. That was really cool.”’

She followed that up by directly calling out those rumors and making it clear that her position didn’t come from shortcuts. Nikki admitted that while she tries to stay strong, the constant negativity does get to her at times — especially when it feels never-ending.

“And then it’s, ‘Wow, she only got to where she’s at because of who she used to date,’ or ‘she’s only here because of this.’ And it’s… I’m working really hard. I would love to say I don’t care, but there’s a part of me that does care. And there’s a part of me that hopes I can change that perception of those hateful people.”

She also shared advice she’s received about dealing with that kind of attention, acknowledging that success often comes with criticism — even if it doesn’t make it easier to handle.

“You know, I’ll have people tell me, ‘They’re always going to hate you. They hate successful people. When you hit a certain level of success, it just brings on hate, and that’s just the noise to tell you you’re actually doing something right.’”

Still, Nikki noted that the impact of social media is real, and sometimes stepping away is the only way to protect her mental state. She ended by reflecting on the bigger issue, describing how toxic online environments can drain people emotionally.

“It is hard when you see so much online, especially when you know what kind of athlete you are. I have to, at times, take social media breaks and not read the comments, because they do affect me and they’ll get me really down. Social media can be such a tough thing, and you have to really teach yourself not to read everything, because man, people are brutal. There are a lot of miserable people in this world, and I do believe that social media kind of sucks our soul energy.”

This shows just how much of Nikki Bella’s return isn’t just about what happens in the ring — it’s also about dealing with the constant noise around it. And while she’s pushing forward, she’s also being honest about how difficult that balance can be.
