WWE SmackDown is set to go live from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, but just hours before showtime, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis broke the silence with a major update on Drew McIntyre’s suspension status.

In a video posted just two hours before the December 12 episode airs, Aldis revealed that he’s been actively working behind the scenes to get McIntyre reinstated. However, the Scottish Warrior has completely ghosted him.

“As you know, Drew McIntyre was recently suspended from SmackDown. And despite what Drew might think, since that time, I’ve been working tirelessly to try to reinstate him and bring him back where he belongs,” Aldis began.

But the process has hit a frustrating wall.

“That’s become increasingly difficult this week given the fact that Drew won’t return my calls, has not returned emails, has not returned text messages. So he’s left me no choice but to use this platform to address him directly and say—Drew, consider this an official invitation to come here tonight so that we can discuss a resolution together to bring you back to SmackDown.”

McIntyre has been on a chaotic run as of late, appearing at Survivor Series despite his suspension and getting into a backstage brawl with Cody Rhodes just last week. Now, with Aldis putting the ball firmly in Drew’s court, all eyes are on whether McIntyre will show up tonight and answer the invitation.

SmackDown already has a stacked card, but Drew’s potential return could shake everything up—especially with Saturday Night’s Main Event just around the corner.
