Nia Jax may have dominated in the ring, but when it comes to the dating scene, things haven’t exactly been as smooth.
During her appearance on The Nikki & Brie Show – WrestleMania Weekend Part 1, the former WWE star opened up about her experience with dating apps—and revealed she once got waitlisted trying to join Raya.
While chatting about relationships, Nikki Bella brought up the idea of using dating apps. That’s when Nia admitted she once tried to get into the exclusive, celeb-heavy dating platform.
“You know what? There was a time where the girls were all getting into it—I think it was like Becky and Charlotte and like they were all like on Raya—and I was like, ‘Okay, maybe I’ll try it.’ And then I got waitlisted!”
She laughed it off, but said it felt like a sign.
“It was back when they were like super selective, so I was like, ‘Okay, well that’s a sign.’”
Even beyond Raya, Nia made it clear she’s not big on dating apps in general and struggles with how impersonal the process can feel.
“I don’t know if I could do a dating app. I feel like I’m kind of like you [Nikki]. I’m not a big dater. And so being single now, it’s weird to think of like meeting someone on an app and then showing up and being like, ‘Hi, I’m Nicole, nice to meet you.’”
For her, it’s all about real-life chemistry.
“Genuine connections are something I would prefer… I tried a couple times, but then one person didn’t believe it was me, and it was just awkward.”
While the dating app world may not be her scene, Nia’s open honesty on the topic struck a relatable chord—especially for anyone who’s ever felt weird navigating love online.
