Nia Jax has never been one to hold back, and now she’s opening up about a major lifestyle change that’s made a huge impact on her well-being. During an appearance on the Stay Busy with Armon Sadler podcast, the WWE powerhouse revealed why she decided to cut alcohol out of her life—and how it’s helped her stay on top of her game.

Jax explained that her decision to stop drinking was driven by her weight loss journey and overall health goals. She noticed that alcohol made her feel sluggish and bloated, leading to days of inflammation and bad eating habits.

“I was going through a weight loss journey, and I just felt like whenever I drank, I felt really inflamed,” Jax shared. “I’d have fun, get drunk, and then the next day—or two or three—I’m sitting there feeling inflamed, not feeling great.”

Realizing that it was holding her back, she made the choice to go cold turkey. “If I really want to be serious about my weight loss, if I want to be serious about my health in general, I need to make this decision to cut it out,” she added.

For three years, Jax was completely alcohol-free, and she said she felt amazing. Now, she allows herself the occasional celebratory shot with friends but keeps her drinking to a strict minimum.

“Every now and then, we celebrate—like if the girls have a big moment, I might take a shot to toast,” she explained. “But it’s definitely something that’s been the best thing for me and my health.”

Jax’s commitment to putting her well-being first has clearly paid off, as she continues to dominate in the ring. Whether she’s shutting down trolls on social media or making big moves in WWE, she’s proving that prioritizing yourself is always a winning strategy.
