The return date for WWE: Unreal Season 2 has been known for a while—January 20, 2026. But now, new details have emerged that shed light on what fans can actually expect from this upcoming season, and it’s packed with behind-the-scenes drama and major WWE Superstars.
Unlike Season 1, which centered around the buildup to WrestleMania 40, Season 2 will focus on the months leading to SummerSlam 2025, showcasing the chaotic process of putting together WWE’s second-biggest event of the year. Netflix confirmed that the new season will dive into the internal workings of WWE’s creative process, following both the writers and the talent during one of the company’s most pressure-filled stretches.
Several high-profile names are officially locked in for on-screen appearances this season. Among the confirmed cast are Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Naomi, R-Truth, Chelsea Green, Lyra Valkyria, and Penta. The season will also feature appearances from musician Jelly Roll and commentator Pat McAfee, offering a wider lens on WWE’s intersection with pop culture. Netflix issued a statement teasing what’s ahead, saying:
“WWE: Unreal returns with new storylines and a stacked superstar lineup. Season 2 takes fans behind the scenes with Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, and many more.”
Viewers will be treated to five brand-new episodes, each roughly 50 minutes in length, capturing everything from tense creative meetings and real-life arguments to emotional personal moments and the grueling travel schedules of WWE performers. It’s the same raw, documentary-style format fans loved in Season 1—but this time, the stakes are even higher as the road to SummerSlam takes center stage.
Directed by Chris Weaver and showrun by Erik Powers, the series is executive produced by Peyton Manning and Jamie Horowitz. It remains a co-production between Netflix, Omaha Productions, Skydance Sports, NFL Films, and WWE, signaling a continued major investment into sports entertainment storytelling.
With the success of Season 1—which documented John Cena’s shocking heel turn and the inner turmoil of WrestleMania season—Season 2 is shaping up to deliver even more unfiltered access and emotional intensity.
