The smoke just got a little thicker.

On the April 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, a new teaser aired during the second hour—and it all but screamed Aleister Black. The brief but haunting vignette showed smoke filling the screen before flashing to a hand, then quickly cutting back to the mist. A Roman numeral IV appeared surrounded by flames, followed by a spinning coin, more smoke, and a skull with coins in its eye sockets. The final shot? A hand clenching in silence.

Yeah, WWE is playing mind games again—and the internet is already convinced they’ve solved the puzzle. For weeks, fans have suspected that the company has been slowly building toward Aleister Black’s return. With Rey Fenix recently revealed as the face behind a different set of vignettes, attention has turned to these darker, more ominous videos. Each one has carried subtle messages, but the most talked-about theory ties it all to one date: April 25.

Why? Every video has included the number 4 in some fashion, and last week, Roman numerals XXV briefly flashed across the screen. That points directly to April 25—just days after WrestleMania 41. WWE is known for big post-Mania surprises, and this is shaping up to be one of them.

Black, who last appeared in WWE before taking on the Malakai Black persona in AEW, hasn’t been officially confirmed to return—but all signs suggest it’s just a matter of time.

Is Aleister Black the one behind the smoke and fire? Or is WWE setting us up for a major swerve? Let us know what you think in the comments—what should his return look like, and who should he target first?
