WWE has added a new match to tonight’s SmackDown lineup, and this one puts hometown pride front and center.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed that Bayley will compete in singles action against Alexa Bliss. The announcement was made on social media along with a graphic promoting the match for tonight’s broadcast.

Bayley will have the hometown crowd behind her when she steps into the ring, as SmackDown takes place in San Jose, California. That alone could create a major atmosphere, especially with Alexa Bliss standing across the ring in what could be a key matchup as WrestleMania 42 approaches.

"Tonight from The Shark Tank, it'll be hometown girl @itsBayleyWWE going 1-on-1 with @AlexaBliss_WWE. See you tonight on #SmackDown."

The addition of Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss gives tonight’s SmackDown another meaningful matchup as WWE continues stacking the card heading into WrestleMania season. With both women known for stepping up in big moments, this match could play a role in shaping what comes next in the women’s division.

WWE SmackDown airs tonight from the SAP Center in San Jose, California, starting at 8 PM ET on USA Network. International viewers can also watch the show on Netflix, and Ringside News will have full coverage throughout the night.
