The January 14 episode of WWE NXT brought a match to determine the next challengers for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. That was certainly a draw for the episode, because fans wanted to know who was next to face Bianca Belair and Naomi for the titles.

Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend faced off against Unholy Union, the team of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. This match went down at the top of the second hour of this week’s show.

The Meta Girls had control of the match during the beginning of the contest. Then the momentum shifted to the Unholy Union’s control as they cut to a commercial break. The action continued in picture-in-picture as the two teams battled. When we came back from commercial, Isla Dawn was saving her partner from a pinfall.

Jakara Jackson nailed a cross body block while standing on Lash Legend’s shoulders for a near fall and the match carried on. After Lash was sent to the outside, Jakara took a kick to the head, but she was able to create some separation as Legend was out of the ring. Then she got the tag, but Alba Fyre didn’t see it. After that, the Meta Girls nailed a double team move to win the match and claim a future title shot.

The current champions, Bianca Belair and Naomi, have held the titles since a change in plans brought them together as a team. Originally, Belair teamed with Jade Cargill, but an injury sidelined Cargill, and that forced WWE to change up the championship team.
