Tyrese Haliburton wanted to make a Royal Rumble splash, but Triple H apparently wasn’t having it.
The Indiana Pacers point guard revealed on The Pat McAfee Show that he had discussions with WWE’s Chief Content Officer about entering the 2025 Royal Rumble, but ultimately, the idea got shut down.
“I wanted to be in the Rumble. Me and Triple H talked about it. He was like, ‘A lot of people are asking if you’re going to be in the Rumble. I just laughed in their face.’ ‘What the f**k?’” Haliburton said, making it clear he wasn’t too thrilled with the response.
He then speculated that Triple H was “a little scared” about letting him get physical in the middle of the NBA season. He even referenced Jalen Brunson’s involvement in the 2024 Rumble, where the New York Knicks star appeared with a broken hand, causing Triple H to freak out behind the scenes. “Remember when Brunson got in there and pushed himself up with the broken hand and Triple H kind of had a heart attack?” Haliburton added.
While he didn’t step into the ring, Haliburton was at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Royal Rumble, making an on-screen appearance during Pat McAfee’s segment. With his growing connection to WWE, there’s always a chance he could get his Rumble moment in the future—maybe when the NBA season isn’t on the line.
