Natalya just explained the meaning behind her controversial Twitter post—and she’s not apologizing for any of it.
After completing her character change during the January 26, 2026 episode of WWE RAW in Toronto, Natalya shocked viewers again by posting an image of herself urinating on a tombstone that read “WWE Superstar Natalya.” The photo set social media on fire, with fans unsure whether it was a storyline stunt, a real-life statement, or just an unhinged shot at herself. Now, she’s cleared the air—and made it even more intense.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio on January 29, Natalya was asked directly about the image and the meaning behind it. She didn’t hold back. Natalya started by saying the message behind the post was clear to her, and she’s leaving the interpretation up to everyone else:
“Well, the image on Twitter speaks for itself, so that’s up to you guys to interpret however you want. The image speaks for itself.”
She went on to explain that the tweet wasn’t just an act of rebellion—it was symbolic. For Natalya, “Nattie” isn’t a gimmick or a rebrand. It’s a version of herself she buried long ago—and is now bringing back with purpose.
“I don’t see Nattie as a debut. I see Nattie as a resurrection. To me, Nattie is a mindset—a killer instinct. She’s a snapshot of who I used to be. I’m ashamed I let her down for so long. I can never go back to where I was before. There’s no turning back.”
Natalya admitted the entire week had been an emotional rollercoaster, especially after receiving heavy criticism online. But she also said the backlash hasn’t shaken her confidence. She also made it clear that pleasing people is no longer her priority:
“It’s been a very therapeutic week for me. I’m finally in a place where I always should have been. If people like Nattie, they like Nattie. If they don’t, they don’t. Some people feel indifferent. I got a lot of mixed reactions from that post on Twitter, but it’s not my job to make people like me. At the end of the day, there are people I don’t like either.”
Natalya quoted John Cena to describe how public reactions come with the territory—and that once something is out in the world, it belongs to everyone else. Finally, Natalya said she’s at peace with all of it—the betrayal, the post, and the new energy behind her return as “Nattie.”
“Everything is out there and open for interpretation. Cena said it best—he said there were people who were confused and angry about his last match, but once the match was done, it wasn’t his anymore. It was up to the world to decide. People were engaged with what they saw on Monday, and I feel really at peace with it.”
Natalya is clearly stepping into a darker, more unapologetic chapter of her WWE career—and she’s daring anyone to stop her.
