There was a lot of discussion about Natalya’s future in WWE last year as it was uncertain she was going to re-sign with the company. In the end, The Queen of Harts decided to sign another deal with WWE and she has now explained the reason behind her decision.
While speaking to Ring the Belle, Natalya was asked why she re-signed with WWE after rumors last year that she might have left WWE. She explained that when negotiating her new deal in June last year, she had meaningful conversations, especially with Triple H. She stated that he really cares about storytelling and making sure both men and women in WWE get their big moments.
Natalya explained that Triple H plans everything carefully, making sure each show and Premium Live Event has a purpose. Her main goal isn’t just winning matches but being part of exciting stories that fans enjoy, something that she told Triple H and all the higher ups in WWE. Ultimately, that’s why she re-signed with WWE last year.
“Well, when I was signing my new deal with WWE in June of last year, I had some really great conversations, especially with Triple H. The thing with Triple H is that he’s really, really big on storytelling, and he’s focused on finding the right moments for everyone—not just the women of WWE, but the men as well.
If you look at the way he books PLEs and our shows, everything feels like it has a rhyme and a reason. It’s very strategic. My goal—and I’ve expressed this to everyone I work with, especially the powers that be—is to be part of fun stories. For me, it’s not so much about winning and losing matches as it is about being involved in compelling storylines. That’s why I re-signed.”
One of her biggest dreams this year is to win the Intercontinental Championship. Natalya believes this title represents the hardest-working wrestlers, and it also has a special connection to her family, the Hart Dynasty.
More than anything, The Queen of Harts wants to be part of great storylines that fans connect with. She trusts Triple H’s vision and knows the right opportunity will come at the right time. Seeing how he has helped other wrestlers makes her excited for her own big moment.
“I feel like my goal for this year is to win the Intercontinental Championship because, to me, that title represents the workhorses of WWE. There’s also a strong connection to the Hart Dynasty, given my family’s history. Everything I’ve worked for has led me to this moment, and I would love to become the Women’s IC Champion.
I also want to be part of truly great storylines. I have so much faith in Triple H and believe that we will get there—it’s all about timing and waiting for the right storyline. Seeing how he’s transformed so many other talents excites me, and I can’t wait for the moment when I get to be part of a story that deeply connects with the fans.”
As for Natalya’s plans this year, she already called out TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich for a match. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see how 2025 turns out for Natalya and whether she will end up becoming a champion when all is said and done, whether that’s the TNA Knockouts Title or Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
