A historic chapter closed at NWA 77 as Natalia Markova finally claimed her spot at the top of the women’s division.
At the Long Island event on Saturday, August 16, Markova defeated Kenzie Paige to become the new NWA Women’s World Champion. The title change marked the end of a legendary 720-day reign for Paige, who was just eleven days shy of hitting the two-year milestone.
Markova’s victory earned her “The Burke” for the first time in her career—capping off a years-long climb to the championship spotlight. Meanwhile, Paige’s historic run saw her successfully defend the title 33 times across multiple promotions. She originally won the belt by toppling Kamille at NWA 75 and went on to defeat names like Haley J, former WWE Superstar Karissa Rivera (Elektra Lopez), and WWE legend Nattie Neidhart.
The NWA 77 event, where the title changed hands, was taped and will be presented in multiple parts as special episodes of NWA Powerrr, airing on Roku.
Natalia Markova now holds the gold—but with a list of challengers eager to make their move, the pressure’s just beginning.
