Naomi was pulled from her scheduled title match on the August 11th edition of Raw after she was not medically cleared to compete. While many wondered if it was a storyline, it appears Naomi is actually legitimately hurt.
While speaking during the post-Raw show, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Naomi being pulled from Raw after she was not medically cleared. He revealed that he was told the situation is legitimate, pointing out how WWE had a big title match for Naomi. He added that it was unfortunate she got hurt.
“I was told it’s legit, whatever it is. Now, I understand that this week WWE got screwed because they had planned on a big world title match with Naomi, and that’s unfortunate that she got hurt — that sucks.”
Naomi was supposed to defend her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY, so it’s just unfortunate she had to be pulled from the match due to her getting legitimately hurt.
Naomi has been on a strong run as champion, so her being unable to wrestle right now is especially disappointing. There’s no official word yet on the nature of the injury or how long she might be out of action, but fans are hoping for the best right now.
Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see whether Naomi will be able to make it back in time for the Clash in Paris Premium Live Event, since she’s still set to defend her title against Stephanie Vaquer at the event.
How should WWE handle the Women’s World Championship scene if Naomi is sidelined for an extended period? Sound off in the comments.
