MVP Reveals Stance on Possibly Adding a New Member to the Hurt Syndicate

The Hurt Syndicate has been running roughshod over AEW ever since MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley made their respective debuts last year. However, fans still wonder if they’ll add another member to the group and now MVP has addressed the same.

While speaking on Inside the Ring, MVP was asked directly whether the Hurt Syndicate might add another member in the future. MVP confirmed that the idea is always on the table, saying, “Of course it’s possible. It’s always possible.”

MVP explained that he and his teammates, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, have often talked about bringing in a fourth person, ideally a younger wrestler like Cedric Alexander was when he joined.

“We have said for a long time that we’d be interested in adding a fourth member — a younger member. Kind of like how Cedric [Alexander] was before.”

While some reports claimed recent talks about adding a new member, MVP said that wasn’t true but didn’t rule it out. He added that they have even discussed adding a woman to the group at times.

“I know somebody reported recently that there were talks about adding a new member to the Hurt Syndicate — news to me. It’s always a conversation we’re open to. In the past, we’ve had talks about adding a woman to the group.”

According to MVP, the key factor is timing: finding the right person at the right moment to fit the bigger plan. For now, nothing is set, but he admitted there are a few wrestlers they think would be a good fit if the time is right.

“With professional wrestling, like everything else in life, it comes down to timing. Is it the right person at the right time for what the bigger picture is? There hasn’t been any definitive discussion recently… but there are some people that we like, where we’re like, ‘Yeah man, he or she would be pretty cool.’ Like I said — it all comes down to timing.”

The Hurt Syndicate is already one of AEW’s strongest groups and them adding another member would definitely take them to the next level. So we’ll have to see when they’ll get a fourth member in the end.
