MVP just locked in his future—and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

The Hurt Syndicate leader confirmed in a new interview with AdventureGamers.com that he has officially signed a contract extension with AEW. While he didn’t give away the exact length, it’s clear MVP plans to be a part of Tony Khan’s company for years to come—even after he hangs up his boots.

“Recently I signed an extension and I’ll be with AEW for quite a while in my current capacity and hopefully beyond in a managerial capacity and to whatever extent, possibly behind the scenes.”

MVP made it clear he’s happy where he is in his career and grateful for the chance to contribute both on screen and off.

“I’m able to make money working with my friends and also contributing to the business.”

He made sure to give credit to the man behind the AEW curtain, “I thank Tony Khan for this opportunity.”

MVP made his AEW debut in September of last year, setting off a flurry of surprises that also saw Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley enter the fold shortly after. A contract extension at this stage suggests his original deal may have been a one-year contract, and it could mean others in the Hurt Syndicate are also close to renewing.

With MVP now confirmed for the long haul—and possibly eyeing a bigger role behind the scenes—it looks like the veteran is building something that could last long beyond his days in the ring.
