Mustafa Ali is staying with TNA Wrestling—and this time, it’s official.

In an exclusive update shared during his January 8, 2026 interview with Denise Salcedo, Ali broke the news himself: he’s re-signed with TNA Wrestling, ending speculation about a possible return to WWE or a jump to another promotion.

“So I actually want to give you some breaking news here—just a few days ago, I officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling. So yeah—breaking news—I have re-signed, and I’m very, very happy with that.”

Ali made it clear that his decision came down to more than just job security—it was about trust, creative freedom, and making the most of his time in the business. Acknowledging that his perspective may sound “arrogant,” Ali explained that his biggest battle right now is with time—feeling like he’s still chasing a level he hasn’t quite hit.

“TNA management—Carlos, Tommy, everybody from top to bottom—has been incredibly supportive. I don’t want to just say they ‘see the vision,’ but I bring them ideas, and there’s so much trust from them. I feel like I’ve earned that trust. I feel like I’ve done so much in the game, but I’ve never really transcended to that next level. And the question is always—why? Why doesn’t Ali resonate at that level? So for me, the investment and the decision wasn’t just about taking care of my family—it was about how I make sure I maximize whatever time I have left in my career.”

Ali also gave credit to longtime collaborator Tommy Dreamer, who’s become a sounding board for his ideas—supporting him when things click, but holding him accountable when they don’t. Ultimately, Ali made it clear that his heart—and head—are fully in the game with TNA, and that he’s committed to making his time count.

“I’ll bring him an idea, and sometimes he’s not with it, but I’ll say, ‘Tommy, I believe in this.’ And he’ll go, ‘All right—we’ll see. But you better believe if you’re wrong, I’m going to tell you you’re wrong.’ And I’ll say, ‘As long as when I’m right, you tell me I’m right.’

If I’m going to give this company another X amount of years or months—whatever the agreement is—I want to make sure I’m on the field, that I’m able to make a play. There’s a nice little paycheck that comes with it too—so I get to take care of my family more.”

With this update, any doubts about Ali’s future direction are officially put to rest. He’s not just staying—he’s doubling down on his mission to make an impact in TNA.
