Several major spoilers have surfaced ahead of tonight’s WWE RAW in Boston, making it one of the most newsworthy episodes of the year.
According to PWInsider Elite, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was spotted in Boston earlier today. While there’s no confirmation that he’ll appear on the broadcast, his presence in town has sparked plenty of speculation about a possible surprise appearance during the show. Nia Jax and Lash Legend were also seen arriving ahead of the taping, and the belief within WWE is that at least one main roster star will be joining the NXT roster loop this weekend in the Midwest.
Meanwhile,it was reported earlier today that WWE has big plans for John Cena’s farewell run, and those plans begin tonight. Cena is expected to face Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on RAW—a title that has escaped him throughout his entire career. The match was originally penciled in for Survivor Series, but WWE decided to move it up to tonight’s episode, which could also set the stage for an eventual showdown between Dominik and Rey Mysterio.
RAW takes place from Cena’s hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, and the company isn’t holding anything back. The “Last Time Is Now” tournament will kick off to determine Cena’s final opponent for his farewell match in December. The rest of the lineup is stacked, featuring Sheamus vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Damian Priest vs. Rusev in tournament action, along with title matches involving Stephanie Vaquer, Raquel Rodriguez, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and The Kabuki Warriors. CM Punk is also scheduled to appear live on the broadcast.
With multiple surprise names backstage, a possible Cody Rhodes cameo, and Cena’s chance to finally become a Grand Slam Champion, tonight’s RAW in Boston could be one of the most unpredictable and emotional shows of the year.
