TNA Wrestling was closer than fans realized to landing CM Punk before his shocking WWE return at Survivor Series 2024. In a new revelation, Moose took to social media on March 12, 2025, to confirm that there were legitimate plans for him and Punk to feud—a rivalry that would have been a major shakeup for TNA.

“So while I was World Champ there were plans of Punk coming to TNA and us feuding,” Moose tweeted. “Punk vs Lesnar from SS2013 is one of my favorite matches ever. I was looking forward to recreating something just as awesome. But obviously, it never happened… but who knows. Shout out to @CMPunk GOAT.”

Attached to the tweet was a photo of Moose alongside Punk, further fueling speculation about just how serious Punk was about joining TNA before his blockbuster WWE comeback.

This revelation follows Scott D’Amore’s recent comments on Talk is Jericho, where he confirmed that TNA made an aggressive offer to Punk, despite not having the financial muscle of WWE or AEW. D’Amore admitted that they broke the budget in an attempt to land Punk and Will Ospreay at the end of 2023.

“It’s documented, we made an offer to [CM] Punk, we made an offer to Will Ospreay,” D’Amore said. “There’s your budget, and then there’s budget busters that there’s revenue attached to this. Like, here’s your budget that you’re running with, your revenue envelope, and then on a senior level at the very top you go, ‘Okay, if we make this move, all this revenue model changes.’”

While Punk ultimately returned to WWE, the fact that TNA had concrete plans for him—especially a feud with Moose—raises the question: How different would things be today if Punk had chosen TNA instead?
