MJF walked into AEW Dynamite expecting to dictate the terms of his AEW Revolution title defense, but by the end of the night, the entire situation had spun out of his control.

At the top of the second hour of the February 25, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite, the AEW World Champion confronted Adam Page in the ring and announced that the stipulation for their Revolution match would be decided by a coin flip. MJF presented the situation as a fair decision, but the conditions were clearly designed to favor him. One outcome would lead to a Texas Death Match, while the other would result in a one-sided no disqualification match that allowed MJF to do whatever he wanted while restricting Page from using weapons.

Adam Page immediately accepted the challenge but warned MJF that a Texas Death Match would expose him in ways he wasn’t prepared for. Page made it clear that in that kind of environment, MJF’s usual tricks and shortcuts wouldn’t save him. He emphasized that he could beat MJF under any circumstances and wanted the match to settle their rivalry once and for all.

When the coin was flipped, it appeared to land in MJF’s favor. However, Page immediately questioned the legitimacy of the coin and demanded to see it. MJF refused and attempted to leave the ring instead of proving the result was legitimate. His behavior only fueled suspicion, and before he could escape, JetSpeed and Brody Lee stepped in and blocked his exit, forcing him to remain in the ring.

With pressure mounting, MJF tried to stall by suggesting they could use a different coin, but the damage had already been done. Tony Schiavone then revealed that AEW President Tony Khan had intervened after determining the original coin had been rigged.

Because of that decision, Khan ruled that the stipulation would be overturned. Instead of the match taking place under MJF’s preferred conditions, the championship bout at AEW Revolution will now officially be a Texas Death Match.

With AEW Revolution approaching, MJF’s gamble has left him facing the exact type of match he wanted to avoid. Do you think Adam Page now has the advantage heading into the Texas Death Match, or will MJF still find a way to escape with the AEW World Championship?
