AEW star MJF is taking his talents to Netflix, locking in a featured role in Happy Gilmore 2 alongside Adam Sandler. The sequel drops July 25 and features a celebrity-stacked cast that includes Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, and Bad Bunny. But it’s MJF’s off-screen commentary that’s raising eyebrows.
During a chat on Busted Open Radio, MJF threw some serious shade at WWE’s Lyra Valkyria while showering praise on Becky Lynch, who’s set to defend her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Valkyria at SummerSlam.
“I’m a big fan of Becky Lynch. Hate that Lyra (Valkyria) girl. I agree with Becky. [Lyra] stinks. I’m a staunch Becky Lynch supporter. If you have an issue with Becky Lynch, I have an issue with you. Not into this Lyra chick. Something is up with her. She’s probably a bad person.”
When asked about his connection with Becky Lynch during filming, MJF revealed there’s history between them.
“Oh yeah. Me and Becky, we go way back. We are good friends.”
MJF is riding high in AEW after securing a guaranteed AEW World Title shot by winning the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In. With his upcoming Hollywood role and title chase in AEW, the Salt of the Earth continues to keep himself in the spotlight.
Happy Gilmore 2 is scheduled to hit Netflix on July 25, and if MJF’s performance is anything like his mouth, he’ll have no problem stealing scenes.
