MJF isn’t holding back on how he really feels about AEW’s leadership.
During his appearance on the SI Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina, the former AEW World Champion made it crystal clear that he is the reason AEW is thriving—not Tony Khan.
When Traina tried to steer away from WWE-related questions and focus on AEW’s current state, MJF didn’t sugarcoat his response. “AEW is slowly but surely, I feel, growing all over again because what we’re doing right now is we’re putting undoubtedly great content out, and the great content is me,” MJF stated.
Then, he took direct aim at AEW’s owner. “It’s got nothing to do with Tony Khan—he’s a f*cking moron. It’s got everything to do with me. You’re tuning in to see me, right? And I’m back. And I’ve been back. And I’m interesting. And I’ve been interesting. So we’re on a tear right now, and people are very interested to see me and Hangman go at it.”*
MJF has never been one to hold back, but taking a shot at the guy signing his checks? That’s next-level. With AEW ramping up for major storylines, including his brewing feud with Hangman Page, it’s clear MJF is positioning himself as the centerpiece of the company—whether Tony Khan likes it or not.
