MJF embraced his heel persona earlier this year and has since been unstoppable, culminating in his recent win of the AEW American Championship. After the events of Dynamite this week, MJF sent a scathing warning to Will Ospreay.
MJF previously attacked Daniel Garcia aggressively before defeating Will Ospreay to claim the AEW International Championship. After disparaging the title and unveiling the AEW American Championship, he faced Kyle Fletcher in an Eliminator Match on AEW Dynamite’s August 7th episode. MJF won the match and then assaulted Fletcher in brutal fashion.
In a digital exclusive, MJF addressed Ospreay and expressed anticipation for his upcoming bout against Michael Oku at RevPro Summer Sizzler. MJF highlighted the contrast between himself and Ospreay, emphasizing his dedication to his friends, family, and country. He boasted about his dominance over opponents like Kyle Fletcher and Daniel Garcia, asserting that he was a superior champion.
MJF claimed that, unlike Ospreay, he has consistently proven himself as the best. He predicted a decisive victory over Oku at RevPro on August 11th, suggesting that Oku’s association with Ospreay wouldn’t be enough to secure a win. MJF also hinted at retaining his American Championship at Wembley Stadium’s All In event against Ospreay, declaring that his success is undeniable and should be acknowledged.
“You see that? That’s the difference between a foreign freak like Will Ospreay and ‘The American Hero’ MJF. I don’t let my brothers in arms get hurt like that. I care about my friends, I care about my family. I care about my countrymen. You just watched Kyle Fletcher get absolutely decimated by the greatest champion in the world, the American Champion, ‘The American Hero’, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. He did the same thing to Daniel Garcia. Didn’t he? Will Ospreay, ‘the best wrestler in the world.’ My American ass. I am, and I have proven it time and time again. Hechicero, RUSH, one, two, there you go. I could keep on going. I could talk about the guy whose ass I just whooped in CMLL, Templario. I could talk about Kyle Fletcher, and soon, I’ll be talking about you, Michael Oku. RevPro, that’s right. August 11th, I am coming to York Hall, and I am going to absolutely decimate another one of Will Ospreay’s little boys. Oku, he loves you. He talks highly of you.
He says you’re great. Well, he said the same thing about Fletcher, and look what happened to ‘The Aussie Arrow.’ Boy, it’s gonna take a whole lot more than a fat-ass sidepiece walking with you to the ring to give you enough confidence to beat the man. RevPro, Michael Oku, I am going to do what your boy, what your mentor Will Ospreay is incapable of doing. I am going to pull the trigger. I am going to hit you with a Tiger Driver ‘91. I am going to retain my American Championship, and I will do the same at Wembley Stadium, All In, August 25th, against Will Ospreay, ‘The Aerial Assassin.’ Because you can be the feeling all you want, bruv. MJF, ‘The American Hero,’ ain’t nothing but straight facts. For those facts, you can thank me later.”
We will have to wait and see whether MJF will end up defeating Will Ospreay at AEW All In on August 25th and cement himself as the true American Champion once and for all, as many fans want Ospreay to win instead.
