MJF isn’t planning on slowing down anytime soon. The 29-year-old AEW star made it clear during Super Bowl week that he sees himself sticking around in professional wrestling for the long haul — potentially another two or even three decades.
While appearing on Ross Tucker’s show during Super Bowl festivities, the current two-time AEW World Champion was asked about his age. MJF didn’t hesitate with his response.
“Now I am 29 and feeling fine, my friend. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a good… probably 20 or 30 years left in my career so.”
That’s a bold projection from someone who has already spent a significant portion of his adult life inside the ring. MJF has built one of the most recognizable personas in AEW and has been open about wanting to continue wrestling even as opportunities outside the business grow.
Despite dipping his toes into Hollywood, MJF has repeatedly stated that professional wrestling remains his priority. His long-term goal, he has suggested in past interviews, is to eventually transition into a part-time schedule — not to step away entirely, but to preserve his body and extend his in-ring longevity.
At 29 years old, MJF is already a two-time AEW World Champion and one of the promotion’s top stars. If he truly believes he has 20 or 30 years left, that would potentially put him competing well into his 50s.Given how the wrestling landscape has evolved — with many veterans staying active longer than ever — MJF’s timeline might not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
Do you think MJF can realistically wrestle for another 20 or 30 years, or is that wishful thinking? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
