MJF didn’t wait long to celebrate after surviving the violent main event of AEW Revolution 2026. Shortly after the show ended, the AEW World Champion jumped on social media and made a bold claim about the match he just endured.
“GREATEST DOG COLLAR MATCH OF ALL TIME!
GREATEST IRON MAN MATCH OF ALL TIME!
GREATEST TEXAS DEATH MATCH OF ALL TIME!
AND STILL!”
MJF posted the message after retaining the AEW World Championship against Hangman Adam Page in a Last Chance Texas Deathmatch at Crypto.com Arena. The stipulation added enormous stakes to the match. If Hangman Page lost, he would never again be allowed to challenge for the AEW World Championship.
The match quickly became one of the most violent contests of the night. Both competitors used a variety of weapons including broken glass, barbed wire, chains, skewers, tables, and even a syringe during one of the match’s most shocking moments. By the end of the fight, both men were covered in blood as the action spilled around ringside and up the entrance ramp.
Hangman repeatedly tried to finish the champion with Buckshot Lariats and high-impact attacks. At one point he even sent MJF crashing through the production sound table after a huge slam off the stage. Despite the punishment, MJF managed to survive the chaos. Late in the match he regained control and used the chain connected to a dog collar to choke Hangman until he collapsed, forcing the referee to call the match.
With the victory, MJF walked out of Revolution still AEW World Champion while Hangman Page was left dealing with the brutal reality of the stipulation. Because of the match’s conditions, Page is now permanently barred from challenging for the AEW World Championship again as long as the result stands. MJF clearly isn’t shy about how he views the match either, immediately declaring it one of the greatest bouts ever while celebrating that his title reign continues.
Do you think the Texas Deathmatch between MJF and Hangman Page deserves to be considered one of the greatest matches ever, or is the champion getting carried away with his celebration? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
