MJF isn’t backing down after a fan publicly slammed his recent AEW promos for crossing the line—and the AEW World Champion made it crystal clear he’s not interested in playing it safe.

On February 1, 2026, a fan on Twitter fired off a scathing critique of MJF’s recent mic work, writing: “Whilst you’re here stop calling your opponent’s N*zis and child r*pists for cheap heat and drop the title to the Protostar, cheers 🤙🏼”

Instead of ignoring it, MJF clapped back with a defiant—and very on-brand—response, making it clear that he finds those promos funny and he refuses to be boring and PG like other wrestlers.

“It’s funny. I’m funny. No one’s better than me on the mic. Stop being performatively sensitive. Sorry I’m not boring and PG like everyone else.”

The tweet comes on the heels of two polarizing promos that sparked backstage and public backlash. First was his “P. Diddy” line aimed at Swerve Strickland during the December 17 Dynamite tapings in the U.K.—which Fightful Select confirmed wasn’t cleared with other talent beforehand and “wasn’t well-received” by several people behind the scenes.

Then, on the January 28 episode of Dynamite, MJF took aim at Brody King with another eyebrow-raising insult, saying: “Never in my life have I met a liberal man who looks more like a Nazi.”

While AEW is known for its creative freedom and unscripted promos, MJF’s latest barbs have reignited the debate over what crosses the line—even in a promotion built on edgier storytelling.

Is MJF just pushing the envelope like always, or is it time for AEW to rein him in? Let us know your thoughts below.
