MJF isn’t interested in wrestling fans branching out — he’s making it clear there’s only one place he thinks they should be watching, and that’s AEW.
The AEW World Champion jumped on Twitter after a fan suggested wrestling fans should stop limiting themselves and start exploring different promotions around the world, especially with how strong 2026 has been across the industry. The fan framed it as a bigger-picture take, encouraging people to look beyond just one or two companies.
“There is an abundance of GREAT wrestling out there. If you're bored, explore. 2026 has been an incredible year with mind-blowing stuff in multiple continents. Why limit yourself to one or two companies if you're jaded or tired with what they offer? Be curious, hungry.”
MJF immediately pushed back — rejecting the idea outright and making it clear he believes AEW stands above everything else right now and it’s truly the only company that’s on fire.
“No Andy. We aren’t gonna play this game. There’s only one company to watch that’s truly on fire right now. It’s AEW on TBS/TNT/HBOMAX.”
The timing of that response stands out. WWE is currently dealing with heavy backlash following the April 3 episode of SmackDown, where the reveal of Pat McAfee as Randy Orton’s ally in his feud with Cody Rhodes didn’t land well with a lot of viewers. That episode ended up with a 0.25 rating on Cagematch — the lowest in SmackDown history on the platform — while criticism focused on the decision to insert a celebrity into a feud built on long-term history.
On the flip side, AEW has been trending upward. AEW Dynamite’s April 1 episode drew 730,000 viewers on TBS with a 0.15 rating in the key demo, and recent booking has been getting stronger reactions following AEW Revolution.
With fan frustration toward WWE rising and AEW gaining traction, MJF’s comment doesn’t just feel like character work — it feels like a direct shot in the middle of an ongoing debate about which company is delivering right now. With WrestleMania 42 getting closer and opinions getting louder, comments like this are only adding more fuel to the debate about which company is delivering in 2026.
