Few WWE Superstars have seen the success out of scrutiny that The Miz saw. The former MTV star, who got his first taste of television as part of The Real World: Back to New York in 2001, burst onto the WWE scene and he was relentless. The Miz proved he was a WWE fans even during his reality television beginnings, and he isn’t done living that dream.
The Miz had a moment on SPORTbible’s Snack Wars that instantly felt like it was destined to become one of those wrestling-adjacent clips fans keep reposting. During a segment comparing American and British vodka-based drinks, he was handed a UK drink labeled “Original Blue Vodka Mix,” followed by a Black Cherry White Claw from the U.S. The segment was basic as he tasted both, reacted, and he picked a winner.
As the UK drink was brought out, the host made a remark that suggested it might be more appealing to younger drinkers. Miz didn’t let that slide. Instead, he turned the moment into a mini-rant about age and what “young” even means now, especially in the world of viral clips and youth culture.
“Tell me what younger is to you. 45? Is that younger? 45? No, it’s old. Is 45 old to you? Is it? Is it old to you? Is it? Is it old to you?”
After the bit landed, The Miz, who is 45-years-old himself, took a sip of the blue vodka mix and gave the kind of quick, honest reaction that made the segment work.
“That’s actually not bad.”
Then The Miz moved on to the American option, a Black Cherry White Claw. That’s when he went full confident mode, like he was cutting a promo over a canned drink, and made his pick immediately.
“White Claws win. Every day, all day. Let’s go.”
The Miz has always been a pro at making non-wrestling content feel like a promo. For years, he’s been one of WWE’s best talkers.
The Miz backed up the talk with actual hardware. Over the years, The Miz has built a resume that stacks up with most of his generation. He’s a former WWE Champion, an eight-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time United States Champion, and he’s won tag titles across multiple eras of the company including four WWE Tag Team Championship reigns, one World Tag Team Championship reign, two SmackDown Tag Team Championship reigns, and two Raw Tag Team Championship reigns. Put it together and that’s 20 total championship wins in WWE, which is why fans still treat him like more than just a personality. Needless to say, he’s a shoo-in WWE Hall of Famer.
The Miz has proven that he can still wrestle a hard match whenever he needs to, but that hasn’t been his role in recent memory. Although he hasn’t wrestled a lot of longer singles matches, he’s still involved in the stories, ready to pop off a Skull Crushing Finale at a moment’s notice. Randy Orton has felt that in recent memory as well. Only time will tell what he does next in the ring, but 45 doesn’t seem too old for the A-Lister to wrestle.
