Fans thought The Miz was walking away from WWE after a sudden surge in speculation hit social media this weekend. With rumors claiming he had unfollowed WWE and removed the company from his profiles—especially after the recent exits of R-Truth and Carlito—the timing felt suspicious. But The Miz isn’t going anywhere.
On June 7, 2025, The Miz posted a video from an airport en route to London, where he’ll begin filming the new American Gladiators reboot for Amazon Prime. In the clip, he celebrated the opportunity and used it to set the record straight about his WWE status.
“What’s up everybody? I am in an airport headed to Gladiator Arena, and I can’t tell you how excited I am. From talking to the team at Prime Video to the team that’s on the ground, to talking to the Gladiators—everyone, and I mean everyone, is out to make this the best version of American Gladiators ever.”
He shared how much the original show meant to him growing up, calling hosting the reboot “an absolute honor.” But he didn’t stop there. After receiving several messages about rumors of a WWE exit, he directly addressed them.
“Since I’m talking on here, I feel like I need to address some things because I keep getting texts from friends asking me, ‘Is the news on social media real?’ And my thing is: Everyone get off of social media and don’t listen to any of it, because it’s all false.”
The Miz insisted he hasn’t altered any of his profiles and has maintained the same Twitter bio for years—still calling it “Twitter,” not “X.”
“I haven’t changed that in like five years. I haven’t unfollowed WWE at all. WWE and I are in very good standings. Like, we just dropped Miz Golf, which is part of WWE’s YouTube.”
He also reaffirmed his passion for WWE and the importance of Money in the Bank, an event that helped launch him into main event status.
“Tonight is the most important pay-per-view of the year in my opinion, because it’s Money in the Bank. I’m not sure if I didn’t win Money in the Bank, if I didn’t cash in, I would have ever been WWE Champion.”
“I know I say that a lot, but it’s significant in my career. It all started with Money in the Bank.”
Before ending the video, he plugged the event one last time and showed his support for the talent performing.
“Definitely watch Money in the Bank tonight on Peacock. I’ll be on a flight, but I’ll be rooting for all the superstars out there. And yeah, I guess that’s it. I’m off to American Gladiators and it’s going to be awesome.”
So there it is—straight from The Miz. He’s not ditching WWE or quietly unfollowing anyone. He’s just expanding his career while staying committed to the company he helped build.
