Even after nearly two decades in WWE, The Miz still isn’t immune to the anxiety that comes with roster cuts.
In sit-down with Chris Van Vliet, the former WWE Champion opened up about the mental toll of WWE releases—and how they keep him grounded. Having watched close friends like Dolph Ziggler get cut, Miz confessed that he can’t help but question his own future every time the company trims the roster.
“Every time there’s a release I’m like, ‘Oh no, is it me?’” he said.
Despite being a dependable fixture in WWE programming, Miz doesn’t take his spot for granted. He knows WWE is always changing and spots aren’t guaranteed. But he’s not living in fear—he’s relying on his worth.
“But I know how valuable I am.”
That self-assurance comes from always staying ready. Miz revealed he treats every WWE event like it could be his last.
“I look at every arena and think, is this the last?”
That mindset has helped him remain a mainstay while others have come and gone. Whether it’s hosting WrestleMania or carrying the Intercontinental Title, Miz delivers—and he knows it.
The Miz isn’t just working matches—he’s working with purpose. Longevity like his doesn’t happen by accident, and he knows every moment could be his final bow.
