WWE announcer Mike Rome is asking for prayers after sharing devastating news about his mother’s health.

The longtime WWE personality took to his Instagram Stories with a raw, emotional message, revealing that his mother is currently in a coma. Rome, who’s known for his work across WWE’s brands including RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, admitted the relationship with his mom hasn’t always been simple—but the love is still there.

“If you know anything about me, you know my relationship with my mom is complicated. With that said, she’s in [a] coma in the hospital, and any and all prayers for a positive outcome for her would be greatly appreciated.”

Rome didn’t give details about what led to her condition, but he was direct about how serious things are.

Rome has been with WWE since 2016 and has worked across NXT, RAW, and SmackDown. While mostly seen announcing matches, he once made headlines in 2019 when he won the 24/7 Championship from Samir Singh—just seconds after Singh had beaten R-Truth.
