“Speedball” Mike Bailey is wasting no time making an impact in AEW, and now he’s got a brand-new finishing move to go with it.
After months of visa-related delays, Bailey finally stepped into an AEW ring, making his debut on Dynamite with a win over The Beast Mortos. But instead of using The Ultimate Weapon, Bailey unleashed a devastating tornado kick—and now, he’s got an official name for it.
Speaking on SI Takedown, Bailey revealed he’s calling the move Time Adventure, inspired by the final episode of the animated series Adventure Time, which he calls one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
“I’ve thought about it a lot, I’ve been practicing that move. I felt I needed something quicker, something more direct, something that requires a less specific setup than The Ultimate Weapon,” Bailey said. “During the whole time I was off, I was in Canada getting my visa renewed between December and March. I spent a lot of time at the IWS dojo in Montreal, training and teaching, and I’ve been working on that kick extremely hard every chance I get for the last three months.”
Now that he’s fully cleared for action, Bailey has the AEW International Championship in his sights. With a spot in the upcoming four-way match against Orange Cassidy and the winner of the other eliminator matches, Speedball is just one win away from challenging Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty.
Bailey’s long-awaited AEW debut is finally in full motion, and now, with Time Adventure in his arsenal, the question is—will this new move be enough to take him all the way to championship gold? Drop your thoughts below!
