Mickie James isn’t letting Ash By Elegance drag her name through the mud without a response. The TNA Hall of Famer made her return in Nashville after Ash took multiple shots at her on commentary, including remarks about her “living in a trailer park” and questioning her toughness. What started as Mickie simply trying to address a rules issue quickly turned into something far more personal.
Speaking about the situation during an appearance on Gabby AF, Mickie made it clear she has no interest in online drama and plans to handle things face-to-face.
“She’s mixing me up with someone else because I’m a phone call away, obviously. And I hope she doesn’t think she’s going to start Twitter beefing with me because that’s not happening. We’re not doing that, honey. I’m happy to show up next week. I will be there with bells on and boots for sure. The best boots, you know, because I do have a lot to say. And I wasn’t even trying to be — I was just going to let them know that she could push the foot off the rope and restart the match and like it escalated quickly. Tensions were high, but it’s a lot deeper than what people just kind of think on a surface level.”
Mickie also pointed out just how often Ash mentioned her name during the broadcast.
“I don’t know how many times she said my name last night, but I feel like I need a royalty check. I really am feeling it. Keep my name out your mouth.”
This isn’t just business for Mickie — it’s personal. James revealed that when Ash was released from WWE and unsure of her next move, she turned to Mickie for guidance. According to Mickie, she personally went to bat for her and even reached out to Tommy Dreamer to help secure her an opportunity in TNA Wrestling.
“I know Ash. I love Ash. We traveled together, we wrestled together. And I think if she thinks about it and she really thinks deep down — she called me when she got let go with WWE and she really didn’t know what to do and what she was going to do. And, you know, I talked to her some and then I was like, obviously let me call Tommy. Let me talk to Tommy. Let me see. Because that’s something a friend would do. And I don’t do that for a lot of people.”
That’s why the recent comments hit harder than a standard promo exchange.
“Once you give someone your validation or your credit or something like that, you would hope that they would then do right by that and not make you look like a fool, right? And she’s out here not being the Ash that I know and not being the Ash that I called Tommy in and asked him to give her a chance.”
Mickie emphasized that her reputation in the wrestling business means everything to her.
“Your word is your bond and that is like — it’s true. And once that’s kind of — it takes years to build that up and it takes just like this to undo all that work. If there’s one thing I would hope that I’d have is that when I put my name or like when I say that I think this person is genuinely talented, that it means something.”
With tensions boiling over in TNA Wrestling, Mickie says she’s ready to handle it like a grown woman — but she’s not backing down. Whether this ends in a heated confrontation backstage or escalates into an in-ring showdown, one thing is clear: Mickie James feels betrayed, and she’s not staying silent about it.
