Mickie James made an impact with her surprise return at TNA No Surrender — but now she’s addressing the bigger question: what comes next?

After months away from TNA television following her October Hall of Fame induction, James showed up in Nashville to stop a post-match beatdown after The Elegance Brand retained the Knockouts Tag Team Titles in controversial fashion. Her return instantly sparked speculation about whether she’s gearing up for another run. Now, she’s breaking her silence.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio on February 18, 2026, James admitted she’s still figuring out what the future looks like — but wrestling is far from out of her system.

“I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching—from doing WWE LFG to being in that mentor space. Wrestling is one of those things that’s in your blood, and I’m so competitive. You start thinking, what if? What if?”

James explained that her mindset right now is less about locking into a specific promotion and more about finding the right fit emotionally and professionally. Instead of forcing the next move, she’s choosing patience.

“For me, whatever opportunity feels right and good in that space, I would always be involved in wrestling in some capacity because I love it with my whole heart. I don’t really know what’s next, and that’s kind of a weird and scary place for me. But it’s also about sitting back and being open to anything—anything that feels right. And if it doesn’t feel right, that’s okay too.”

James also opened up about what it felt like stepping back into the locker room after time away, revealing there’s always a level of uncertainty when you return. She also admitted that getting physical again felt good.

“It was cool to be back in the locker room. You always wonder how people are going to feel, even behind the scenes. But the locker room was awesome. The girls were awesome. They were so great. It was good to be back in the mix for a second. It was nice to knock some dust off the high heels.”

For now, Mickie James isn’t committing to a full-time comeback — but she’s clearly not closing the door either. Whether it’s TNA, WWE, a mentor role, or something entirely different, she’s leaving the future wide open.
