Mick Foley is setting the record straight. The WWE Hall of Famer addressed a rumor that’s been floating around online claiming he makes $2.88 million per year as part of a WWE ambassador contract. According to Foley, not only is that number false—he’s not even an ambassador.
Speaking during an interview on Casual Conversations with The Classic, Foley made it clear that while he still has a strong working relationship with WWE, the idea that he’s collecting millions is way off base.
“I don’t have an ambassador job that pays me $2.88 million as has been reported.”
He added that when he did have a formal ambassador role with WWE, the number wasn’t even close.
“I had an ambassador job for two years that paid me literally 1/14th of that.”
Foley also questioned why anyone would believe he’s pulling in that kind of money while still spending most of the year on the road doing live shows, stand-up, and appearances.
“It’s been rumored that I have this luxurious job. And I’m like, I don’t think I’d be out on the road 200 days a year if I was making $2.88 million a year to be an ambassador.”
He didn’t throw shade at anyone who does get that kind of payday—if such a person exists—but made it clear he’s not that guy.
“If somebody else has that type of job, good on them. But I just want to put it out—I love my relationship with WWE, right? I did an appearance for them at Royal Rumble, a signing. I’m doing an appearance for them at, you know, what the new version of Axxess is.”
Foley said his current Legends deal is better than ever, but that doesn’t make him an official WWE ambassador—and certainly not one with a seven-figure paycheck.
“And I have a Legends deal that—because WWE has seen fit to promote me as somebody of importance—is better than it was 20 years ago. Better than it was 10 years ago. So I’m really grateful for that relationship.”
“But I don’t receive $2.88 million. I receive zero dollars, because I’m not an ambassador.”
He finished by adding that regardless of titles or contracts, his connection to WWE is part of who he is.
“Anywhere I walk, I’m kind of a walking billboard for WWE.”
So while Foley continues to represent the brand through appearances and nostalgia, don’t believe the clickbait—he’s not living the ambassador life fans imagined.
