Mick Foley isn’t staying quiet. The WWE Hall of Famer and legendary hardcore icon has stepped into the political spotlight — and he’s not just calling out Donald Trump, he’s calling out his fellow WWE stars too.
Over the weekend, Hollywood was rocked by the shocking murder of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, who were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home. The couple’s son, Nick, has since been arrested in connection with the double homicide. While tributes from the entertainment world poured in, Donald Trump used the tragedy to post a bizarre and inflammatory message that sent social media into a tailspin. In a now-viral Truth Social post, Trump linked Reiner’s death to political satire, writing:
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!“
The backlash was immediate. Musician Jack White was one of the first to fire back, calling Trump a “vile, egomaniac, loser” and saying it was “a corrupt and narcissistic sin” to use someone’s tragic death for personal gain.
“Trump you disgusting, vile, egomaniac, loser, child. Neither he nor any one of his followers can defend this gross, horrible insult to a beautiful artist who gave the world so much. To use someone’s tragic death to promote your own vanity and fascist authoritarian agenda is a corrupt and narcissistic sin. Shame on you trump and anyone who defends this. God bless you Rob Reiner and thank you for what you gave the world. I never even met you and I still stand by you. -jack white III”
But the loudest voice from the pro wrestling world came from none other than Mick Foley. Taking to Instagram, Foley reposted Jack White’s comments and added a gut-punch of his own — directed at his WWE peers.
“What @officialjackwhite said here is spot on. How any of my @wwe colleagues can stand by — let alone stand next to — this man is beyond me.”
The message was a direct shot at WWE personalities who’ve either publicly supported or appeared alongside Trump in recent years. Foley’s statement instantly sparked discussion online, especially given WWE’s longstanding ties with Trump — including multiple WrestleMania appearances and his 2013 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the Reiner case, with the motive still unclear. But Trump’s tone-deaf statement has only inflamed the grief and outrage surrounding the tragedy.
Mick Foley isn’t backing down — and he doesn’t care who he offends in the process. With tensions running high and Trump’s post dominating headlines for all the wrong reasons, Foley just reminded everyone that loyalty has its limits… especially when silence starts to look like support.

Do you agree with Mick Foley’s reaction? Should WWE talent distance themselves from Trump after this? Drop your thoughts in the comments and join the conversation.
