Mercedes Moné left WWE, and she made a lot of noise in the process with a big walkout. She didn’t return to the company, despite there reportedly being talks, and she ended up in AEW, where Tony Khan has booked her to the sky.

At this point, Mercedes Moné has broken a record for most titles held with 12. A ton of those belts are from indie companies, most of them which AEW fans have never heard of. That being said, those companies are apparently forking over a ton of cash to get her to show up.

According to Dave Meltzer in the the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mercedes Moné is commanding a high price for independent wrestling appearances. One promoter who inquired about booking her was quoted $25,000 per appearance.

There may be different deals depending on the company or region of the country. After all, it’s harder to get to some places than others that may be closer to a major airport. It is possible that the figure varies based on whether she is interested in working with a particular company. Dave Meltzer noted, “There may be and probably are different deals cut elsewhere, and it’s also possible it’s people who she isn’t interested in working for who get that quote.”

AEW President Tony Khan said during a recent press conference that Moné’s willingness to work in smaller companies means that she isn’t making a ton of money. He also put over the AEW TBS Champion in a huge way.

“With all the commitments Mercedes has taken on, I think it’s really impressive. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, that shows it’s not about pure greed and money for Mercedes because a lot of these places she’s wrestling, Winnipeg, Canada, Denmark, they’re not the highest paying places. She’s not really making money from these. She loves wrestling. She loves building up companies. She loves meeting new young stars, and she really cares about the craft and the sport of wrestling.”

Mercedes Moné is not likely to stop her run any time soon. Only time will tell how many title belts she is able to snag before she loses one. At this rate, we’re starting to wonder how she is going to get around to dropping all of those championships.

AEW has a ton of talent on the roster, but they know what Mercedes Moné brings to the table. She also brings a ton of luggage, and most of those bags are full of title belts.
