Mercedes Moné is catching serious heat online after launching a private texting service for $99.99 per month. The AEW TBS Champion recently unveiled the offer through her official website, claiming fans could connect with her “privately and directly.” But the backlash has been immediate—and brutal.
In her announcement, Moné said, “My super fans have always been my super friends. Now, like friends, they can text me directly and privately. I’m so excited to finally be able to connect this way. Sign up and text me now!” She added that users would get access to a number reserved only for her biggest supporters.
But many fans aren’t buying what she’s selling. One X user dragged her for the pricing and public presence, writing, “Just when you think she couldn’t get more annoying. Like stop posting her.” Another posted, “Marbles = lost,” clearly questioning her judgment. A third user didn’t mince words: “Absolutely fucking not,” when asked if they’d subscribe.
Many fans also suspect the entire service isn’t as “personal” as advertised. “So many dummies gonna pay and think she herself is actually replying. Whole time it’s an AI bot, or some dude overseas,” one person wrote, calling the concept deceptive. Others echoed that suspicion: “It’s not even her,” and “Y’all do know that won’t be her texting lol. C’mon now.”
One sarcastic post summed up the scam-like vibe some are feeling: “If you believe that you’ll be talking to her, I’m an Indonesian prince that has a million dollars I want to give you… just drop your account and routing number below.”
While some did support Moné’s right to monetize her platform, they still had concerns. One fan wrote, “All for her getting her bag but I hope she is doing this in the safest way possible, there’s a lot of weirdos in this world.”
A few others tried to find the humor in it. One joked, “That’s a big C-E-nO from me,” and another said, “Love @MercedesVarnado but come on 😂🤣😂🤣😂 but it’s better than OnlyFans.”
Then came the harsh criticism of her talent and star power. One comment read, “I wouldn’t do it if it were free. She is overrated and underperforming. She is awful on the mic. Her talent is mid card at best.”
Despite Mercedes Moné’s intentions to offer something unique to fans, the online reaction has been overwhelmingly negative, with many calling it a money grab cloaked in fan service.
