Mercedes Moné is officially out of the championship game — at least for now.

In an update released on April 4, 2026 through her latest Mone Mag, Moné revealed that she vacated the APAC Women’s Championship, ending her run as an active champion. The move means her once-loaded trophy case is now empty of regularly defended titles after months of losses and changes Moné explained that the decision didn’t come from anything that happened in the ring. Instead, she pointed to issues behind the scenes while she was overseas, saying she had to make a tough call while in London.

“While I was in London, I had to make a tough call. I sent the Malaysia Championship back.”

She said her team tried to work things out, but the situation fell apart when the promotion couldn’t cover travel costs or work with other companies.

“My team and I really tried to make things work—we put in the effort, had the conversations, and explored every option. But at the end of the day, they told us they didn’t have the budget to fly me out and weren’t open to working with other promotions. For me? That just didn’t align with the vision. So I made the decision to vacate the title.”

Moné also made it clear that walking away wasn’t easy, especially after building her name as one of the most decorated champions in wrestling during her international run.

“And look—this business isn’t always easy. Not every partnership works out the way you hope. But I’ve learned to stand firm in my worth, my time, and what I bring to the table.”

She added that every move she makes is intentional, even when it means giving up championship gold. Moné ended her message with a reminder that she isn’t slowing down, even without titles around her waist.

“Every title I hold means something. Every move I make has purpose. So even though it wasn’t easy, it was necessary. Because growth sometimes means letting go.”

“Trust me… I’m always moving forward.”

Not long ago, Moné was holding championships across multiple countries at once, building a reputation as one of wrestling’s most visible champions worldwide. Now, with the APAC Women’s Championship vacated, her belt collector era appears to be officially over.

Whether this is the end of that chapter or the start of something new remains to be seen, but one thing is clear — Mercedes Moné is heading into her next move without championship gold for the first time in a long while.

Do you think Mercedes Moné made the right call giving up the APAC Women’s Championship, or should she have kept the belt and tried to work things out? Let us know what you think in the comments.
