Mercedes Moné is firing back after being labeled “out of touch” over her $99.99-a-month texting service.

After doubling down on the pricing during her February 16 appearance on We Playin’ Spades with Nick Cannon, Moné made it clear she believes the service offers real value for her most dedicated supporters. But not everyone is buying it. On February 17, a fan took to Twitter and claimed that the former TBS Champion was out of touch for charging nearly $100 a month just to text her.

"She’s a great performer but I don’t think there’s a woman’s wrestler on this planet more out of touch with reality."

Moné saw the tweet— and responded directly. Instead of backing down, she pushed back and suggested the issue wasn’t being out of touch, but simply that not everyone can afford it.

“Out of touch… or just not in your price range 🤑 How many OnlyFans subs you paying for, brother? 💁🏽‍♀️”

This comes after Moné publicly defended the $99.99 monthly cost of her private messaging platform. Speaking to Nick Cannon, she said the service was designed to give fans legitimate access while preventing impersonation scams. She explained that people pretending to be her online pushed her to create a verified channel of communication.

“I’m a CEO because there are so many people who say, ‘Oh, I’m talking to you, I’m messaging you,’ and they’re getting scammed. So I’m like, how about you really do talk to me? You talk to the person you love, but you’ve got to pay me a month. I’ll text you whenever I’m free.”

Moné also addressed concerns about the nature of the service, stressing that it’s not adult content — just direct interaction with what she calls her core supporters.

“People are paying me a month to text me. No sexy stuff. These are just my legit fans. It’s the Moné crew—the people that love me, respect me, and want to know about the ins and outs of my day, how I’m feeling, what it’s like being a CEO. And I teach them. I’m a CEO for a reason. Isn’t that great? A low price. Brilliant idea. It’s very low.”

At this point, Moné isn’t trying to win over critics. She’s betting that the fans who see value in it will subscribe, and the rest simply won’t. Whether that confidence pays off long term is another question.

Do you think Mercedes Moné is justified in standing by the price, or does the “out of touch” criticism have a point? Sound off in the comments.
